ISO 9000 stands for International Organization of Standardization, created in 1947. It is a worldwide federation of “Member Bodies” (i.e., National bodies – Government Institution or Organization incorporated by Public Law) with it's headquarter at Geneva, Switzerland. ISO is important because of its systemic orientation.
This standard promotes a process approach, when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a QMS to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements. For an organization to function effectively, it has to identify and manage the numerous linked activities. Often the output from one process directly forms the input to the next.
Implemented and maintained QMS guarantees:
• A company’s ability to meet customer’s requirements and needs, regulatory and own requirements;
• A company’s strong will to enhance customer satisfaction through improvement of organization’s effectiveness and efficiency.
